Consumer health data we collect
Hangry is an iMessage-based nutrition coach. To coach you, we collect:
- Phone number (your sole identifier with us — we do not collect email)
- Self-reported body data: weight, height, age, sex, goals
- Meal logs you send via text, photo, or voice
- Wearable data from Whoop (with your authorization): recovery, strain, sleep, heart rate
- Conversation history with the Hangry agent
How we use it
We use your data solely to: (a) generate personalized coaching messages, (b) compute calorie and protein targets, (c) detect adherence patterns, (d) detect when to back off or push. We do not sell your data, do not use it to train third-party models, and do not share with advertisers.
Third parties that process your data
- Sendblue (iMessage delivery)
- Supabase (database)
- Vercel (hosting + cron)
- Google (Gemini AI for message generation and meal extraction)
- Whoop (only when you explicitly authorize OAuth)
Each is bound by their own privacy commitments. Whoop tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256.

Washington My Health My Data Act
If you are a Washington State consumer, the data above qualifies as Consumer Health Data. We obtain affirmative opt-in during onboarding before processing any health data, do not use geofencing, and provide the access/delete rights above. To exercise WA-specific rights, email araychau@gmail.com.
Retention
Inactive accounts (no inbound messages for 2 years) are automatically purged.

Hangry is a coaching tool. It is not a doctor, dietitian, or medical device. Don't use it as a substitute for licensed medical care.
Contact
Hangry is currently served at hangry.chat while in early validation. A custom domain will replace this URL once usage justifies it; your account and this policy are unaffected by that change.
